Rev. Jerald January, Sr. is the Senior Pastor of the Vernon Park Church of God. Serving in this capacity since 1999, Rev. January dynamically delivers the Word of God without compromise. He was called to the ministry in 1976. During his experience in ministry, he has faithfully served on several boards, including Denver Youth for Christ, and was USA Director for Compassion, International. 

Rev. January has also worked extensively in the media, owning and operating the Matrix Group, a consulting group in Denver, Colorado. As an entrepreneur, he’s provided consulting in Racial Diversity, Marketing, Advertising, Cross-Cultural Development, Promotions and specialized in Media Development.  In 1994, Zondervan Publishing asked Rev. January to write his autobiography entitled, “Messed Up Ride or a Dressed Up Walk.” In 1996, he authored a book published by Cool Springs Publishing House entitled “A Second Time,” that deals with the issue of racial division in American churches.

He is a requested motivational speaker and addresses a wide range of audiences across the country.  He presently resides in Chicago, Illinois with his wife Jerra and two sons, Craig and James. He is the proud father of five children: Chané, Charlene, Jerald Jr., Craig, and James, and grandfather of two.
